Surrounded by gardens, trees and birdlife, Pinangba Hollingsworth Elders Village in Cairns provides holistic and harmonious residential aged care on Yidinji Country, building a stronger future together.

We have a dedicated team of health care and hospitality professionals to ensure holistic care services are maintained to a high standard. We have Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people on staff, who understand our residents’ cultural beliefs and language.

We work with Elders to provide quality care in a culturally supportive and family-friendly environment, ensuring a place of cultural, spiritual and social harmony. Music and cultural songs play a big part in our home. Trips to the beach on our site-owned bus are also popular. Elders have access to several shared areas, including dining rooms, an activity room, and lawns and gardens filled with fruit trees, herbs and native plants.

We use Montessori techniques to support people living with dementia. We also offer residential respite and day respite care. Families can stay up to date with loved ones, receiving photos and notices via our CareApp.

Community amenities and public transport are close by, including shops, medical services, community services, entertainment, parks, a playground, and rail, bus and taxi services.

Our services are delivered by Pinangba, an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander group of services, where family and belonging are at the heart of everything we do.
