BlueCare Lauches Rehab Centre as Part of Unique Health Hub

On Monday, 5 June, UnitingCare Queensland Group Executive, Integrated Services SEQ, Cathy Thomas announced a new state of the art BlueCare Rehabilitation Centre as part of the $100 million Morayfield Health Hub.

This unique service means clients will have a team of GPs, specialists and other health professionals behind them, under the one roof, working together to deliver the best health outcomes.

The rehabilitation centre is a new business initiative for BlueCare and UnitingCare Queensland. It presents us with the opportunity to work with GPs and other health care professionals in an innovative integrated primary health care model, at a time when major health care reforms are rolling out across Australia.

The time and cost involved in travelling to and from medical appointments can be draining for many people, especially those with higher care needs, but having this centre in close proximity to so many specialist services is aimed at easing this burden.

Construction of the centre is currently ahead of schedule and is anticipated to open to clients by early 2018.

The centre will provide a range of allied health and specialist health services, such as physiotherapy, speech pathology, podiatry, rehabilitation and muscular-skeletal services. Facilities will include individual consultation rooms, a gym and rehabilitation treatment area and large meetings rooms for group work.

BlueCare’s Rehabilitation Centre is part of the Morayfield Health Hub, which will include a large GP Clinic, a specialist medical centre, urgent and acute care facilities, a pharmacy, government agencies and a diagnostic pathology and radiology centre.

BlueCare has a strong, ongoing commitment to ensure Queenslanders receive the highest quality care and support so they can continue living life their way.
