Our updated BlueCare Emerald Avalon Aged Care Facility is a warm, inviting home that feels like family.
With our friendly country atmosphere and experienced, professional staff, we are a welcoming and supportive community, where you can forge new friendships over art and craft activities, socialise at regular bingo games and movies, or simply take a seat at our cafe and watch the world go by.
Take some time to cuddle the babies when our intergenerational playgroup comes to visit; expand your mind with sessions on everything from local history to robotics, delivered by the local library; or keep fit with our Active Avalon exercise program, designed by an exercise physiologist.
The walls at BlueCare Avalon are adorned with lovely artworks of local scenes, while rooms feature TVs, lounge chairs and renovated bathrooms. Most rooms have direct access to a variety of community lounge rooms and outdoor areas, which are ideal for entertaining family and friends in relaxed surrounds and landscaped gardens.
We know how important the dining experience is, and our exciting new Diet and Nutrition System, which is coming soon, will enable you to choose your own meals from a menu tailored to your likes, dislikes, and dietary requirements.
BlueCare Avalon sits on a quiet street in the heart of Emerald. Public transport is nearby, and we are just five minutes from shopping centres, services and amenities. We want you to think of us as your home, which is why we do everything we can to deliver a safe and friendly environment. Rooms
Single and shared rooms include ensuite and built-in robes; access to staff 24 hours for your safety; emergency call system.
Activities
Enjoy arts and crafts twice a week; as well as bingo and movies; intergenerational playgroup once a week; shopping trips; entertainment; barbecues; and seminars.
Feeling Good
Look smart with our visiting hairdresser; lose yourself in a book borrowed from the local library, which delivers weekly; enjoy regular services from a range of religions in our beautiful chapel; and keep fit with our Active Avalon exercise program.
Health
Access to a range of health professionals such as doctors, dentists, podiatrists, speech therapists, dietitians and physiotherapists.
Food
Our menus are nutritious and varied. Special dietary requirements can be catered for to meet individual and cultural needs. There is also an on-site cafe.

We accept residents living with dementia and engage with Dementia Australia regularly regarding their care.

Residential service manager
I started with BlueCare in 2017 as the Activities Officer, bringing sociable events and outings to the residents of Avalon, which I found greatly rewarding. I have since become residential service manager, where I can help people in a different capacity. In my free time I enjoy travelling and exploring new places. I love spending quality time with friends and family.
